TECHNIQUE

The Sugar paste is gently applied to the skin at luke warm temperature against the natural direction of hair growth.  Then the hair is removed in the natural direction of hair growth.

WHEN TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT:

–  We recommend waiting 3 weeks minimum after shaving, waxing or any prior hair removal services.

–  Thoroughly clean vajajay, especially in between the inner/outer labia and buttocks strip area over the anus, right before you come to your appt.

–  2-3 days before your menstrual cycle begins or after menstrual cycle ends.  We do not perform Brazilian nor Bikini services when the menstrual cycle is active.

BEFORE APPT & AFTER CARE + MAINTENANCE

It is very important to Exfoliate & Hydrate your skin!

•  BEFORE your appointment, please exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells that may be covering a hair strand forcing it to lay down.  We want all hairs up and out from the pore and ready to be removed from the follicle.

           –  Do Not Trim before appointment.  We have the proper tools to do so in a sanitary environment.  It trims to the perfect length for the best results from our service.

•  AFTER your appointment + MAINTENANCE, continue to exfoliate your skin.  Don’t forget to moisturize to keep the skin hydrated!  We strongly recommend using yellow sap aloe vera or coconut oil while the skin is moist.  Excellent moisturizers that travel below the skin surface to truly hydrate the skin.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Body Sugaring and Body Waxing?

Body sugaring removes hair from the root follicle and in the direction it grows; it also removes dead skin cells resulting in a naturally exfoliated, very smooth, healthy skin – plus less painful experience than with Body waxing, which removes hair in the opposite direction of growth, snapping hair at the skin surface; it also removes live skin cells resulting in broken hairs, lifted, tender skin, ingrown hair – plus a more painful experience and trauma to the skin.

Body sugaring ingredients are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, natural – water, lemon juice, sugar – edible, water soluble. Very safe and skin friendly, bacteria cannot breed in sugar;  Body waxing ingredients are chemicals consisting of petroleum resins which adhere to live skin cells, can only be removed with pore clogging oils or chemical solvents. Prone to contamination and cross-contamination.

Body sugaring is performed using sugar paste at body temperature.  Combined with the natural hair removal sugaring technique, means a much more comfortable experience for everyone. Body waxing is performed using hot wax which runs the risk of burning skin.

Body sugaring technique at Wax, Sugar & Spa prolongs hair regrowth of minimum approx. 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.  The sugar paste wraps around the hair making it pliable, while seeping into the hair follicle to make the extraction more complete and gentle. The hair is removed from the follicle only in the natural direction of growth, which helps to extract the hair intact.  Body waxing has early hair regrowth of 3-5 days due to broken hairs. Waxing can leave a minimum  of 30% hair breakage behind.  Since it is removed in the opposite direction of hair growth, sticks to hair and live skin cells, hardens on the hair, it tends to break hair off at the surface, rather than pull it out.  Results in earlier regrowth and ingrown hairs.

After consistent Body Sugaring services, the hair follicle begins to deplete.  The hair grows in more refined and less dense each time.  You will see superior results after just one (1) service!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A Brazilian, G-String Brazilian, Bikini Line, Deep Bikini Line?

Brazilian sugaring removes all hair on the Mons pubis, inner/outer labis, perineum, buttocks strip
G-String Brazilian sugaring removes all hair on the Mons pubis, inner/outer labis, perineum, buttocks strip & the Buttocks
Bikini Line sugaring removes all hair at the panty line.  Fold of the thigh and inch from top of bikini panty line.
Deep Bikini Line sugaring removes all hair 1 inch from fold of thigh to the outer labia, 2 inches from top of bikini panty line and bottom part of lower butt cheeks (the part you see when laying on your back).

DO YOU DO MEN BRAZILIAN SERVICES?
At the moment, we do not offer Men Brazilian services.  We do sugar or wax other body parts for Men – back, shoulder, legs, stomach, arms, chest, feet, hands, eyebrows.

IF I’M USING ACCUTANE, CAN I STILL SUGAR?
Sorry, but no. Accutane effects the whole body causing severe dryness. Wait at least 6 months after discontinuing use.

HOW OFTEN DO I SUGAR?
Because sugaring removes hair, in what’s called the antigen stage (pulling from the root). That starts to deplete the hair follicle over a short time, resulting in your treatments being further apart.  We highly recommend scheduling every 3 – 4 weeks for the first 3 services.  

Afterwards, the hair starts to grow evenly, is much less dense and super fine in texture for all races, nationalities, skin color.  The results are the same for these variables.  

Typically 3-6 weeks, but it can vary from person to person and their desired long-term results.

CAN I SUGAR IF I’M PREGNANT?
You sure can. There are no toxic chemicals that could possibly enter your blood stream.

CAN I SUGAR IF I’M MENSTRUATING?
Yes, you will typically be much more sensitive.  However, it is our policy that we do not perform any services for that area while you are actively menstruating.  It is not sanitary.

WHAT IF I’M USING RETIN-A OR RENOVA?
These products cause thinning and shedding of the skin. Please wait after the initial shedding process has ended, about 30 days.
